The first occupants of south west Britain: the region’s Palaeolithic archaeology in context

Methodological advances over the last decade have dramatically shifted our understanding of the Palaeolithic. The first part of this talk will provide a brief update summarising some of the most significant developments in order to contextualise the record of south west Britain. The region’s Palaeolithic archaeology will be explored in part two. In the final section the lifeways the region’s early occupants, and the landscapes they inhabited will be considered.
