Please allow 28 days for us to process your application.
As a new member you will receive a Membership Pack containing information on the Society’s activities, a latest copy of the Society’s Newsletter and a free publication of local interest.

Privacy: Please note that the Society keeps its membership records on computer. You have the right to inspect the personal data we hold for you on written request to the above address, and to have this data removed from our records at any time.

If you should wish your details to be removed, or it you have any queries regarding private or institutional membership and subscriptions, please contact the Membership Secretary at:
Dasmemsec@devonarchaeologicalsociety.org.uk

or at the above address c/o the RAM Museum.

Membership rates are:

• Individual members £25.00
• Joint members £32.00
• Family (2 adults and named children of the same household up to their 18th birthday) £32.00
• Student members £14.00
• Institutional members £45.00

Subscriptions become due on January 1st each year, but if you join between October 1st and December 31st your membership fee will run to the end of the following year (Standing Order set up in this period should pay for the first time on 1 Jan).

After joining it is a great help if you pay your subscription renewal on time. An easy way to do this is to complete a standing order form and send it to the Membership Secretary. This will cut down on the cost of sending out reminders and get the money into the Society’s interest earning account.

Gift Aid tax reclaims: Our charity status gives us a tax advantage; we can claim a tax refund from the Inland Revenue for those subscriptions and donations paid out of a member’s taxed income. So long as you pay at least as much in income tax or capital gains tax in a year as you are claiming as Gift Aid, you can add a massive 25% to the value of your subscription or donation simply by completing a Gift Aid Declaration Form

The declaration form for those first applying to join the Society appears at the end of the Membership Application Form; the form for existing members appears separately.

Donations and legacies: Monetary gifts to the Society can be made any time or as a bequest in a will. These can be for general funds or to be applied to a specific purpose. You are reading this web site through the generosity of a legacy. If you need further information on this, please contact the Hon Sec.

As a charity, we are registered (as No. 276865) with the Charity Commission and we account to them for our income.
