90th Anniversary Event: DAS Photographic Competition

Photographic Competition

To celebrate the 90th birthday of the Devon Archaeological Society the Executive Committee invites you to partake in a photographic competition. Entries must be received by the end of June 2019.

All photographs should be related to Devon. Any archaeological subject can be considered: from field monuments to architectural structures; from excavations to artefacts ― and not forgetting the people involved!  Trustees cannot enter.

Photographs can be submitted either digitally, or as prints. They can be colour or monochrome. Prints should be 10”x8” (or near equivalent). Multiple entries are allowed.

If sending digital images via email, these should be c. 4-5Mb. Larger files should be submitted on disk or memory stick to the RAMM via the post, or hand delivered to Berkeley House if attending a lecture/seminar or coffee morning. The Society cannot guarantee to return prints, disks or memory sticks.

Please send digital attachments to the Newsletter Editor

The best pictures will be chosen by a panel of Committee members, who will be judging composition, content and quality. Their decision will be final.

There will be three prizes of John Lewis vouchers to the value of: £50, £30 and £10.

These, and other worthy entries will, be uploaded onto the Society’s website and, by taking part, entrants agree to allow the Society to use the images (with due attribution) on the web site and in its publicity.

Please provide a caption, date and – of course – your name and contact details.

Happy snapping!
